Drifting through thrift stores - you never know what you may find. You may find treasures, trash and everything in between. A carousel horse is something that you may find on a merry go round but would never anticipate finding in some small thrift store tucked in among sandwich shops in a small town. Then again, you can never tell what may lurk within. That is what makes the adventure of browsing totally worth it.
As an artist and in my artworks, I hope to communicate a message of some kind to you, the viewer -- if only to give you a momentary escape from the sometimes hectic and chaotic world in which we live. I am a self-taught artist, experimenting with different mediums and techniques in the spirit of fun. I spend my days helping others find a solution to serious problems, and art has become my own personal escape. I need this as fortification from the stressful side of life as I help these folks find hope and comfort. And besides - beauty in this world is something to behold and treasure. I hope to freeze in time some of the sights that have pleased me as well as offer up something aesthetic to give you, the viewer, some pleasure.

Great capture! The framed paintings of faraway places is the perfect backdrop. Wonder how many young people have mounted the steed and were captivated by the easily imagined travel scenes.

Thank you, Raymond! I don't think any young ones climbed onto that steed when it was standing by the framed paintings. It was in an antique store and mounted up on a table. :) But I loved this capture too, and go back from time to time. That merry-go-round horse remains.
